Hi all! Apparently my title is too short

So, um… Hi?
I like restoring vintage computers, messing around with projects i never finish, and taking long walks in the park. Okay, that last one is a lie. I feel like I’m writing an about me for a dating app.
I am married, have lots of kids and pets and free time almost doesn’t exist. But when i get it, i have a workshop for electronics in my basement where i tinker and post random updates on projects.
Not sure what else to say.
Just to see how adding a picture works, here is the current state of the reason i got this screen name 30 years ago.

Is that a CX650 or 500?

Honda Turbo CX500 but, it’s pre-production. This bike was won, by my dad, in a radio contest in 1982. It hasn’t run in over 20 years and several people have tried to fix it. The problem is, they made some last minute changes to the break system right before production so new calipers won’t fit. You would have to modify the forks and wheels or machine custom parts. At this point, only a very specific collector would have any interest in it, so it just sits, rotting.
The MG, on the other hand, is actually in much better condition. That was my baby. Ive been saying for years I’m going to restore it. I want that car back sooo bad.

Beautiful! Get out there and work on them

Love to see the nerd-gearhead connection. I have an old Dodge truck I swapped a 5-speed into a couple years ago. Something satisfying about the combination of a detail-oriented task where you work with your hands. And it’s a nice break from staring at a dang screen all day.

Edit: not to mention the truck is sooo much more fun to drive now.

Such a cool machine, and sad that it’s not really something that would ever be ridable again. I’ve never ever seen a Turbo in working condition. They’re either like yours or in a museum.

My first girl friend had a convertible MG (I don’t remember the model), and it was a blast to drive. Fun little car.

I had always wondered what the MG stood for … fun looking car! I remember seeing the guys on Top Gear drive one (the brand, maybe not exactly your car).

I have never worked on a car other than filling gas and wiper fluid. But I love watching car YouTube where people restore damaged cars
