And that’s after some pretty darned aggressive spam filtering.
If you’ve sent me an email that I haven’t responded to (and about 80 thousand of you have — lol), I’m not ignoring you. Seriously.
Going forward, I’m thinking I’ll add a few new email addresses for specific purposes — one for subscribers who have administrative questions, one for whistleblowers, one for news tips… that sort of thing. Make it easier to filter out the higher priority messages.
But, for the moment, be patient while I try to get caught up.
Which won’t happen tomorrow. Because tomorrow is my birthday. And I’m taking the day off (other than a short, goofy show). But later this week I’m going to power through as many emails as I can.
Do me a favor: Don’t send me a follow-up email (or remind me about emails here) for a couple days. It just adds to the message pile… which is already Mount Everest in size. . We’ll see how many I can get through between Wednesday and Friday.
On the email note, for future, could I suggest maybe using something like https://letterbird.co as a contact page and not give out your email. For one, it takes work, so less spam. Two, you can reply without using your email if you want to keep it from getting out there. At least as your generic contact, you could just embed it on lunduke.com or to avoid js on the page link out to it.
As far as the 80,000, I would just drop it maybe. Make a short episode stating that and ask folks who haven’t heard back from you to resend if it’s urgent… going back through all of them is going to take way to much time.
