I don’t know how much custom work you guys do on these forums… but it would be nice to have a close box on the link previews if you don’t want a preview.
When you put a link into a comment, a preview box is generated. Sometimes this is unwanted.
For example, I paste https://lunduke.com/ into this comment, and this box below is automatically inserted:
https://lunduke.com
(edit: for some reason the box isn’t appearing all of a sudden … )
The only way I know of to get around this is to manually format your link like so:
[https://lunduke.com/](https://lunduke.com/)
But this is kind of a hassle. It would be useful to have a close box like this in the comment editor window to transform it into a regular text link:
When I don’t want to make the link preview, I just wrap it in back ticks, so it looks like code instead, you could also instead do something like httpx://lunduke[.]com

That works too but then the link isn’t clickable. You may want the link clickable but without a big obtrusive opengraph preview
You gave me an idea though… this sorta works https://cnet.com[]. Still clickable but it prevents the preview from coming up
