Bug: Forum Icon does not use a transparent image

Since discourse provides multiple themes out of the box, it is recommended to use a PNG or Transparent WEBP for iconography.

Hrm. Yeah. I didn’t really create that image with people changing the theme in mind. Need to think on the best way to do that.

You can also do SVGs for scalability, Level1Techs does this.

Here. I had to use an online rescaler because krita was creating malicious PNGs that break linux.

Suggestion:

I had to recreate your sprite based on a JPEG from Locals. Notably there’s a drop shadow around the whole image so it can work on basically every background color. On plain white, it won’t look too fantastic, but it’ll be readable.

FINALLY. Left-Justified text!

Apparently I cannot upload an SVG here, bummer. I spent some time figuring out how to use Inkscape (which is a big PITA, but anyway…). I think the Lunduke-sprite didn’t convert perfectly, but it’s probably “good enough”; I made more effort into aligning the text (so the TLJ text and “Forum” are the same height), and opted against a drop shadow on the sprite this time around.

At any rate, it’s easy to use rsvg-convert to export from SVG to any desired bitmap size.
